OUR ADORABLE 11 GOLDEN RETRIEVER PUPPIES!!!

Born on August 12th, 2011, we began another wonderful adventure of raising these beautiful 11 Golden Retriever puppies.  This is our second litter and they have a wonderful story!

Bella (right) is our reddish 5 year old female who is an amazing mother.  Brodie (left) is the 1 1/2 year old father and a beautiful mix of red/sandy tones.  They are adorable together!
They made beautiful puppies which are a mix of colors.  Some are already darker reddish like their mom, some are a sandy mix like their dad, and some are very light colored like the grandparents.  She had 8 boys and 4 girls (we unfortunately lost a boy after 2 days).

We put colored strings around their necks so that we could tell them apart because there were so many of them.  We decided to name them with sweet candy names so as we watched and cared for them those first few days each one gradually aquired a candy name according to their colored string and personality.  Here they are:

Beginning with the boys . . . This is Rolo!

This is Hershey!

This is Charleston Chew!

This is Mentos!

This is Rocky Road!

This is Starburst!

This is Big Red (Chewing Gum)!

And for the girls . . . This is Butterscotch!

This is Skittles!

This is Razzles!

This is Cupcake!

It was Friday August 12th  and we knew Bella was ready to deliever any moment but we were praying that she didn't decide to have this litter in the middle of the night like the last one. Thankfully at 12:30 in the afternoon while were out shopping, my husband happened to go home to check on her and she started laboring.  He called us and I was so thankful it was in the middle of the day.  We ran home and she had already had 2 pups and working on her third.  All the kids jumped right in like pros to help her deliever them because they had done it before.  Bella was even more amazing this time than the first.  I think it's just like the second child syndrome . . . been there, done that!  She knew exactly what to do even more than before but we comforted her and helped her right along.  She had a few breech births, but each puppy came out healthy and strong, ready to nurse.  At 8:00pm she had her 12th and last puppy and again we were amazed at her endurance, instinct, and ability!  Here they are just hours old. . .

A few days old with a little more hair.  We can start seeing the different colors!

So exciting at two weeks they begin to open their eyes.  My kids are thrilled to finally see the cute eyes of their 2 favorites!!

They love to pile on top of each other and sleep even at 2 weeks!

At 3 weeks they start to eat solid food and make an incredible mess.  It is hilarious to watch!
Wow!  Yummy food!

At 4 weeks they are really attentive and starting to play!

At 5 weeks they are starting to run and play.  They love to play at your feet!!

Bella and Brodie are such great parents!  And they have the most adorable puppies ever!

We hope that you are blessed by their story!  We sure have been!  Thank you for visiting our blog!
